Bie Buelens, CEO RetailDetail, co-chair of the BeCommerce jury

Bie initially earned her stripes in the clothing sector, with a career of more than 37 years, fulfilling various (managerial) positions in companies such as Zara, WE, Euro Shoe Group en Deichmann.  Bie became the CEO of RetailDetail in February of 2022, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge of the B2C-world. 


Michel Vermaerke, Managing Director Alio Consilio, Chairman Klara festival (Festival of Flanders Brussels), former Finance, Banking and Telco senior Executive, co-chair of the BeCommerce jury

Michel is an experienced Executive in the world of finance, banking and telco. Successfully leading teams, organizations and projects around the transformation of industries, companies and functions has been at the core of his activities and competences.

From 2005 until October 2017, he was CEO of Febelfin. Before (1996-2004), he was Secretary General, General Counsel and Head of the Staff functions at Belgacom (today Proximus); and prior to this telco experience, he held similar functions at Cedel, today Clearstream, the international Clearing and Settlement Institution for internationally traded securities (1990-1996). Besides his business roles and responsibilities, he strongly believes in committing oneself for the common and greater good. As such, among other functions, he is the chairman of the classic music broadcast Klara Festival (since 2008), and since its inception 15 years ago, he is also independent board member of the Antwerp based Hospital Group ZNA (Ziekenhuisnetwerk Antwerpen).

Besides, Michel owns a consultancy firm, Alio Consilio, which offers organizations alternative ways to find solutions for strategic, tactical, organizational or personnel challenges.

Benny loves to help brands with their Journey from Wholesale Brand to Direct-to-Consumer Retailer. The founder of Frucon.net is an End-2-End cross-border e-commerce specialist.


Clo Willaerts, Freelance Digital Marketing Expert

Author, consultant, speaker and trainer

Clo Willaerts (°1970) is a Belgian marketing professional with a large social media following and extensive experience in digital business for the travel, finance, automotive, media and telco industry.  After working almost twenty years as an internet and media professional, she currently travels around the world as a consultant, speaker and author.

Digital media virtuoso Clo never tires of teaching about digital technology and the impact it has on our daily lives. She frequently lectures in Belgium on social media, online privacy, digital marketing, artificial intelligence and future technologies at Karel de Grote College, EHSAL Management School, Odisee, Vlerick Management School and UBA Academy.


Damien Jacob, Head of RETIS - Professor in web strategies, e-Commerce and e-Business

Active for over 25 years in the field of ICT, Damien is an expert in e-commerce and e-marketing, certified "RENTIC" and "Fit4Digital". He is the current head of consulting firm RETIS, a facilitator for the development of e-business projects for SMEs, starters and traders (both in Btoc and BtoB). He is also a lecturer and trainer in multiple high schools and universities in Belgium and France (e-commerce, e-marketing and digital law courses: www.prospectic.be).    


Edouard Seynaeve - Founder of Wepika

Edouard is the founder of Wepika (www.wepika.com), a Prestashop dedicated e-commerce agency. Wepika focuses on growing SMEs such as J&Joy, Kewlox, eFarmz and Chacon. During his spare time, he launched Café Numérique (Tech discussions between the conference and the bar), RueDuWeb (coworking space) and LeanFund (seed fund).


Els Breugelmans, Professor of Marketing at KU Leuven

Els Breugelmans (PhD, University of Antwerp, 2005) is Professor of Marketing at the KU Leuven, Faculty of Economics and Business. She is an expert in the domain of retailing, and conducts scientific research on a variety of retailing-related topics, including multi- and omnichannel shopping, loyalty programs and retailer-manufacturer relationships. Her research is rigorous and relevant for her academic peers and collaborating companies. Her academic work has been published in major academic outlets such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing and Marketing Letters. She is also often consulted by media, to elucidate on retailing trends from her academic perspective. 


Matthieu van der Schueren, Founder of Jungo & Managing Partner Twinbox digital transformations

Matthieu is a driven transformation consultant and general manager, specialized in business growth and turnaround.  He passionately manages Twinbox, a company delivering large transformation projects and newco developments in B2C and B2C industries. He currently leads the major business & technology turnaround of Standaard Boekhandel & Club. Over the past years, the company has been working on the set-up and launch of Distriplus’ eCommerce platform and organization, the development of the digital & CRM program of Delhaize, B2B eCommerce platform of Turbo’s Hoet Group, the customer interaction app of Ethias insurance, the card & payment strategy of Keytrade Bank, and the digital customer journey for Toyota Motors across Europe. Furthermore, Matthieu is the co-founder of smartconnect.eu and one2three.be.

Celia Boon, Partner Manager Belgium for Shopware

Celia Boon is a true Ecommerce-Passionate and has intensively built her broad expertise around this topic during the last decade. 

She was the Country Manager Belgium for Mollie Payments, has worked for Buckaroo as Senior Payments Consultant and now in her role as Partner Manager Belgium for Shopware, she helps the Shopware agencies in guiding and advising them to build exceptionally performing and future-oriented webshops. 

She is a strong believer in connecting people and in building bridges. That's why her network has grown into a very large E-commerce community. She is very keen to stay up to date on the latest developments and industry specific evolutions. She is straightforward with an open, animated, bold, and direct attitude, what you see is what you get.
